  • IF THE SWIM IS NON-WETSUIT WILL I BE ALLOWED TO WEAR A SPEEDSUIT?

For long distance events you can wear a speed suit that is FINA approved and ITU Uniform Approved. The challenge that athletes face is that most triathlon speedsuit providers do not have FINA approval and most athletes will not get the printing done on Speed Suits required by the ITU Uniform Rules. So it is recommended to plan for a  non-wetsuit swim without your speedsuit.

Click here to see the ITU Rule (p 26).

Athletes must wear the ITU approved trisuit for the non-wetsuit swims. If athletes choose to wear more than one trisuit, both have to comply with the specifications, and the external suit has to comply with the Uniform Rules. Uniforms cannot be removed during the entire competition, except in the middle and long distance events.
